Cypress Wireless Reader Extender now supports OSDP, Wiegand, and OSDP-Wiegand Systems
LAPEER, MICHIGAN — Cypress Integration Solutions of Lapeer, Michigan, has announced that its Suprex® Wireless Extenders now support OSDP.
The updated Wireless Extenders support OSDP readers connected to OSDP controllers, Wiegand readers connected to Wiegand controllers, and have a built-in OSDP-Wiegand interface to support a combined OSDP/Wiegand system without requiring a separate converter.
“We are proud to supply reliable OSDP technology that is made and supported right here in the US,” said Jon Uren, Cypress President and CEO. “This is one more product advancement that makes it easier to use OSDP. This is also a great product to support switching from Weigand to OSDP in the future.”
The Wireless Extender is a pair of units that connect to the reader and the controller; the units communicate over an encrypted wireless connection.
The Wireless OSDP & Wiegand Suprex line includes models SPX-5631, with a typical range of 1 mile; as well as the long-range wireless model SPX-5641, with a typical range of 2 miles. Wireless Suprex Extenders support reader LED and auxiliary I/O signals, with dry contact relay outputs for activating doors and gates.
The 2.4 GHz wireless connection uses the IEEE 802.15.4 wireless protocol. Both models carry a lifetime warranty and are backed by in-house tech support.
The enhanced Wireless Suprex model begins shipping this month. Learn more at CypressIntegration.com/SPX-5631.
