Wireless Handheld Reader (HHR)
HHR-4166B | HHR-4266B
Single-Lane - Wireless Handheld Reader Kit
with Protective Boot
The Cypress Wireless Handheld Reader Kit integrates with an existing access control system to verify credentials at sites where no reader exists.
The HHR Kit is used in digital mustering, at temporary entrances, remote work sites, aboard staff shuttle buses and in tracking staff or student event attendance.
The handheld reader wirelessly communicates with its base unit, which is wired to the existing access controller. The controller validates credentials scanned at the handheld reader, and sends positive or negative feedback to the reader. The HHR-4000 system secures the wireless connection between the reader and base unit using OSDP Secure Channel communication with AES-128 encryption.
Applications
-
- Mustering: Integrate with existing access system; saves critical time searching for staff who report to different assembly points
- Perimeter gates: Check IDs at pedestrian gates or ID drivers at vehicle gates
- Shuttles: Verify staff credentials before transporting to high-security sites
- Temporary entrances: Check credentials at construction site entrances and sites where no readers are installed; provide additional checkpoints during peak staff badge-in times
- Student event attendance, staff training sessions and meal allocations: Manage reporting of event/session attendance and meal/bookstore credits
Features
-
- Reader interfaces with existing system’s live database; credential verification always based on latest data
- 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.15.4 wireless protocol
- Secure wireless connection between the reader and base unit using OSDP Secure Channel communication with AES-128 encryption
- Typical wireless range, depending on environment: Indoor: 150 ft. (45 m) Outdoor: 500 ft. (152 m)
- Credential Technologies: High / Low Frequency (125KHz/13.56MHz). Supports HID Prox, EM4102, AWID Prox; ISO14443A/B ISO15693, FeliCaTM (IDm); MIFARE Classic®, MIFARE DESFire® 0.6, MIFARE DESFire® EV1 (32 bit CSN), HID: iCLASS® Standard/SE/SR/Seos; PIV II, Secure Identity Object® (SIO®)
- Reader controls operation of a relay (relay function is set during installation; example: use to open a gate or trigger an alarm)
- Choose from 1, 2, or 3-reader kit configurations
- Charge Reader unit in charging dock (included)
- Kits include Wireless Handheld Reader(s), Wireless Base Unit, charger(s), and charging dock(s)
- Includes breakaway strap and protective boot, to help protect reader from drops, falls, or other physical damage
